THE COMEBACK ATHLETE
Everyone loves a good COMEBACK, don’t they! As a COMEBACK ATHLETE you are no stranger to pushing your limits and putting your training and performance to the test. In fact you did so and you are now burnt out, injured, or complacent. It can feel easy to give up — after all, getting back on the saddle and reaching your previous level of performance or dedication takes work and a mindset shift.
HOW YOU GET BACK IN THE GAME: As a COMEBACK ATHLETE you need help re-committing yourself to your athletic performance. You’re driven by a desire to be inspired once again, surpass your previous limits, and show the world — and more importantly, yourself— that you still have plenty of game left. In order to move forward, these athletes need to know a few key things to get them back in the game:
➡️ Even the Best Athletes Have Setbacks. Throughout history we learn about Athletes that have had injuries, illnesses, forced retirements, and suspensions. And we have stories of those same Athletes coming back, stronger than ever, dominating their sports. The Setback is expected; the Comeback is when the magic happens.
➡️ You are Wired to Overcoming Challenges. You’ve survived 100% of the worst days, and this is no different. As an experienced Athlete, knowing you have what it takes to succeed and finding your mojo again is what you need most! Building a relationship with a Coach to help get your head back in the game, to provide you with personalized support, and to help you tap into your “deeper why” will help your recovery and come back faster and better than ever.
➡️ Slow and Steady Wins. As frustrating as it can be, easing back into your training routine is important. Avoiding further injury is incredibly important, and as hard as you will want to work to improve, you must do it in a way that won’t cause further setbacks. By working with a coach to set up a re-entry program and to track progress against your goals, you will take the guesswork out of the “when, what and how”.
➡️ Tap into Your Deeper Why. Once your re-entry program is established, your goals are set and your confidence is coming back, it’s a good time to start thinking about “your bigger why”. What does being an Athlete mean to you? What does this Comeback signify to you? What do you want your personal story or legacy say about you?
